Una vez en libertad Everett Comienza a trabajar como mesero en un bar donde conoce a Peggy Van Alden, una buscadora de talentos de una disquera, cuando Peggy acepta grabar una canción, Everett sube a la cima de la fama, obviamente su carácter había cambiado y de ser un gentil y decente caballero, paso a ser un famoso egoísta.La música marca la esencia y es un factor importante tanto dentro como fuera de la película.
